Oat chocolate (chocolate-coated oat pieces) is one of the fastest-growing categories in the candy market — crunchy pieces that appeal to health-conscious consumers. Behind every consistent batch is a production line that combines food safety, precision and hygiene. This article walks through the oat chocolate production process in our factory, step by step.
Everything starts with quality oats and chocolate. We select oats with consistent size and moisture content, and chocolate from approved suppliers, with a stable formulation. All incoming raw materials are inspected and stored separately to prevent cross-contamination.
The oats are mixed with the chocolate base and pressed into stainless steel containers. Stainless steel is used throughout because it is corrosion-resistant, easy to clean, and does not react with food ingredients.
The formed pieces are baked in a hygienic, controlled environment. Baking removes excess moisture, develops the texture, and reduces the microbial load — a critical step for shelf life. Temperature and time are monitored and recorded for every batch, so each run is traceable.
After baking, the pieces are demolded and pass through a manual picking station. Experienced staff inspect each piece by sight, removing any that are misshapen, broken or off-color. Manual inspection at this stage catches subtle defects that automated checks cannot evaluate.
Before packaging, every piece passes through a laser-based foreign-object detection system — the final safety gate of the production process. Any piece that triggers the detector is automatically removed from the line.
Clean, inspected pieces are automatically packaged, then carried by conveyor to a checkweigher, where each package’s weight is verified against the declared value before cartoning.
The entire process is designed around two principles: streamlined flow and cleanliness. Products move forward along the line without backtracking, reducing contamination risk; surfaces are cleaned and sanitized on a fixed schedule; and staff follow strict hygiene protocols including gloves, hairnets and regular hand washing.
